Sheriffs Fútbol Club is a competitive soccer club that serves talented and highly diverse youth in the unincorporated areas of the East Bay, California, based in the Ashland, Cherryland, and San Lorenzo area between San Leandro and Hayward. The club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an elite level soccer club. It first started as a FreeToPlay program in 2017 sponsored by the Alameda County Sheriffs Office as a crime prevention program through DSAL, and in December 2023 the club lost all of its funding and has since rebounded and re-established itself. The club has grown to 20 teams for players born from 2007 to 2018, with teams playing in MLSNext U13 and U14, Norcal Premier NPL Boys, and Norcal Premier Region 3/4 for younger age teams. Winter Futsal training and games take place at COPA or Norcal Premier Futsal. The coaching staff provide top-level coaching to youth players, and Sheriffs FC describes a typical player as someone who has great passion for the game and wants to get better every day. The club’s mission states that it seeks to provide the same opportunities provided to kids in soccer throughout the entire soccer paradigm, including the opportunity to play in college or at the pro level in the US or abroad, and that SheriffsFC coaches work with players and parents to educate them on ways to improve skill level and understanding of the game. The mission also states that learning happens when kids have fun, can be creative, and are guided with specific aims for their age group development. Sheriffs Fútbol Club is sponsored by the Alameda County Sheriffs Office as a crime prevention program through DSAL.
